Invitation to the 2024 World Transplant Winter Games
The World Transplant Games Federation is proud to bring the 12th World Transplant Winter Games to Bormio, Italy, from 3 to 8 March 2024. This is the second time the Winter Games have been held in Bormio; the first was in 2004.
Organised by ANED Sport, we invite you to join us in the heart of the Alps in this renowned winter sports destination. We celebrate the gift of life and honour our donors and donor families in the spirit of competition and camaraderie. Bormio is a world-renowned venue that hosts the Alpine Ski World Cup and will be one of the main venues for the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Renowned for its alpine charm, warm hospitality and first-class facilities, Bormio promises an unforgettable experience for athletes, supporters and spectators.
As a tourist destination, Bormio will welcome you with open arms and a warm Italian embrace. In addition to its famous ski slopes, Bormio is also known for its thermal baths. With its rich history and breathtaking natural landscape, the town offers a wealth of attractions and activities for all interests.
Stroll through the narrow, cobbled streets of the town and immerse yourself in the enchanting atmosphere, enjoy the natural thermal baths or explore the majestic Stelvio National Park.
With competitions in many different disciplines, from skiing and snowboarding to cross-country skiing and curling, the World Transplant Winter Games offer challenge and excitement in equal measure and will give you unforgettable memories to share, take home and treasure.
Bormio's slopes will host all ski and snowboard events as well as snowshoe and curling competitions. Bormio's slopes offer excellent trails for mixed ability levels, deep snow runs and a snow park, so there is something for all levels and tastes.
The biathlon and cross-country skiing events will take place in Viola di Valdidentro, in the small village of Isolaccia, which is about 10 kilometres from Bormio. The historical and cultural heritage of Valdidentro is remarkable, with churches, chapels and mountain huts scattered throughout the area.
